Turkey has announced restrictions on exports to Israel, after Israel opposed Turkish aid drops over the Gaza Strip and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was criticised for maintaining trade ties.
The Trade Ministry announced a ban on the export of 54 items on Tuesday, including products that could be used for military purposes and construction materials like cement, steel, iron and aluminum.
The Foreign Minister said late Monday that Israel rejected a request by the Turkish Air Force to parachute aid packages into Gaza, and vowed to “take a series of measures” against Israel in response.
