R W Freight Services is committed to quality: the company first received accreditation for its BS5750 Quality Management system in 1990, and was one of the first 20 freight forwarders worldwide to achieve this. In the year 2000, the Standard was re-named ISO 9001, and R W Freight and its customers continue to benefit from this tried and tested management tool.
The Standard requires the company to document procedures for all its processes. Quarterly internal audits check that all members of staff follow the procedures.
The system specifies corrective and preventive actions to ensure consistency of operation, and regular inspection by independent assessors ensures that the Quality System continues to serve the business – and its clients – well.
R W Freight Services was able to arrange for the Quality Management system to be integrated into the freight software so there is plenty of data for internal audits, and actions are always traceable. This means that we can spend our time offering the customer personal service, not on maintaining manual quality records.
