From the beginning of the 2023-2024 until the end of week 10, Peru exported 75,167 tons of fresh mango, representing a drop of 66.9 percent compared to the 226,907 tons shipped in the same period of the previous campaign.
A spokesman said that this drop in shipments is due to the low production generated by the climatic phenomena affecting the crop.
Of the 75,167 tons shipped until week 10 of this campaign, more than 90 percent of fresh mango shipments are the Kent variety. They are followed by Ataulfo, Keitt, and Edward.
The main export market was the U.S., which concentrated 38 percent of the total exported by this route.
