Winemakers in the Dão wine region of Portugal have exported their first shipment of wine to China since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
It is hoped that the region can soon export more wine to China, so the volume it sells this year will approach the export volume of last year.
The members of the Dao wine group were were over 1 million euros (about US$1.13 million) poorer, as they sold between 30 percent and 40 percent less wine in the first half of this year than in 2019.
He said 70 percent of the output of this group consists of exports.
