Egypt has opened seven new markets for fruit and vegetable exports within 6 months, despite the difficulties created by the Covid-19 crisis. Agricultural exports have reached almost all international markets.
This has allowed the export of dates to Australia, oranges to New Zealand, potatoes to Mauritius, citrus fruits to Brazil, Argentina and Uzbekistan, and grapefruit to Indonesia.
Fruit and vegetable exports reach many European markets; shipments include citrus fruits, potatoes, onions, strawberries, beans, peppers, cucumbers, pomegranate, mangoes, grapes, garlic and guava.
The Agricultural Quarantine department is committed to implement the new system for exports of vegetables and fruits, focusing on the opening of new markets and improving the traceability.
Egyptian citrus fruits are noted for their high quality, especially oranges, which have become a desirable product internationally.
