Of all the freight cargo moving through Gothenburg port this year, the biggest fall in volumes has been in cars. During the third quarter, 30 000 cars were shipped, compared with 45 000 in 2011. These figures cover movement of cars within Europe and imports and exports to other parts of the world. The decrease is partly explained by a decrease in the export of Volvo cars.
