The volume of exports in June 2014 increased by 4.1 percent over June 2013, the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) in Holland has reported.
The bureau said in a statement that this was mostly due to transshipment of goods through the Netherlands. The entire Dutch export sector grew because of re-export, the export of previously imported cargo. The export of Dutch products hardly saw any growth, CBS said. The export of machines, equipment and metal products rose particularly in comparison with last year.

CBS said that in contrast imports also saw growth. “The volume of imports in July was 7.5 percent larger than the year before. In June the imports grew as well, but that growth was 1.7 weaker.
