An Antonov air freight plane is being used to clear the backlog of European-bound freight from China. The freighter is normally used to carry very large specialist loads by air, but now is is taking general freight from Shijiazhuang aiport near Beijing to Vitoria, Spain on behalf of a major freight forwarder. The Antonov, which holds the record for transporting the heaviest ever single item by airfreight, happened to be in the right place at the right time to solve the freight forwarder’s backlog problems.
