The EU Commission is making available some 64M euros to support projects which improve the environmental performance of the freight sector.  Areas which could receive grants include:catalyst actions, to change the way non-road freight transport is conducted in the EU, motorways of the sea, to shift freight from long road distances to shortsea shipping combined with other modes, common learning actions, to enhance knowledge in the freight logistics sector and encourage advanced methods of co-operation in the freight market.
