A Scottish MSP is taking up the cause of residents who are disturbed at night by noisy freight trains.  The trains are used to carry coal to Longannet power station from Stirling, and local authorities have already said that there are ‘no serious disturbances.’  A local MSP is asking Scottish power to insist that the train operator uses ‘quieter’ trains, which are used by a competitive freight carrier.
