Severe snow and sleet are affecting operations at the port of Felixstowe, and all holding areas for freight lorries are currently full. The port has been closed, and shipping trailers and containers are being stacked on the old A45 and will only be allowed to proceed to the port if they obtain a ticket. It will take some time to clear the backlog and the port oeprators are not clear when they will be able to open again.
