A record snowfall of 27.8 cm in South Korea on Monday temporarily slowed down freight and logistics services.  Fortunately, the volume of freight carried in early January is roughly half that of other months of the year, and according to a Government spokesman, there has been minimal disruption to logistics.  International air shipping from Incheon airport was largely unaffected as all scheduled flights flew the same day.  Inland freight deliveries were recovering by Tuesday, and cargo handling resumed at the ports.  Parcel deliveries were the worst affected as five or six out of ten freight vehicles were trapped in snow on Monday.  However, the Government says that freight services were ‘largely unaffected.’
