A report recently published about UK Freight Transport strategy for 2020 and beyond, suggests that the UK government needs to introduce radical changes to its freight transport policy if logistics and freight is to continue to be a major driver of economic growth. The report shows that the off-shoring of UK manufacturing and the growth in global sourcing has distorted national statistics.  The chairman of the the consulting company said that freight and logistics development is unlikely to meet the goals for carbon reduction and economic performance unless positive policy actions are taken.
