The peak season on the eastbound trans-Pacific shipping lane is experiencing an extension due to robust import demand from Asia. Usually, this demand decreases in the lead-up to Black Friday sales; however, several factors are contributing to its continued strength.

Retail sales have remained strong, while concerns over import tariffs and the coming expiry of the tentative ILA labor agreement in mid-January are driving importers to maintain their shipping volumes.
