Vietnamese authorities have given the go-ahead for selected pork sites in the UK to start exports to Vietnam.
This follows a lengthy process of audits and negotiations led by the UK Government, and wider industry, including the UK Export Certification Partnership (UKECP), to open another new market for the UK’s pork exports.
In Vietnam, pork is the most favoured meat; consumption outstrips domestic production.
“UK pork is known around the world for its high quality and reputation and we look forward to our exporters developing opportunities in this new market,” said an industry spokesperson.
A key strategic objective for the industry is export development.
