Italy’s imports from outside the European Union continue are growing as the country’s economy emerges from the Covid-19 crisis. The same applies to its exports of consumer goods.
Energy export figures are down, the country’s National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT) said. Italy’s trade with China increased significantlyin August.
Imports from non-EU trading partners increased 6.5 percent in August month-on-month, and by almost 40 percent compared to a year earlier, according to the ISTAT.
The volume of goods imports from China grew 42.5 percent.
