Exports from Ireland to China of infant milk formula fell last year during the Covid-19 pandemic, halting growth over many years of an industry which provides hundreds of jobs.

China imports about 10% of all its infant formula imports from Ireland.

China imported about 2% less of infant formula from all global sources last year.
Six countries — the Netherlands, New Zealand, France, Ireland, Germany, and Denmark — provided around 90% of all the global infant formula exports to China in 2020.
