A family farm in Essex, with support from the Department for International Trade (DIT),has targeted their exports to supermarkets in Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia. The business began to export in 2010 when it gained a contract with a supermarket in Dubai. Since then it has expanded to 10 new export markets in Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
During the Covid-19 lockdown, the company faced a severe drop in sales to pubs and restaurants, which usually account for 45% of its revenue, but since April, exports have increased by 100% with worldwide export markets.
