Agriculture officials in Vietnam have made fruit a key export product; it can realise eight or nine times more in value compare to rice production.
It has been added to the list of key export agricultural products with seafood, rice, cashew nut, timber, furniture, coffee, rubber and pepper.
Vietnamese fruit is exported to 60 countries worldwide. Fruit export revenue was US$3.5 billion in 2017 and is projected at $3.6 billion this year.
Việt Nam’s fruit and vegetables exports currently accounts for about 1 per cent of the global vegetables and fruits revenue.
