One of the UK’s largest rail freight companies has just been sold to a new owner.
Said to be the third largest rail freight operator in the UK it operates more than 1,000 trainloads of freight a week, moving about 23 percent of UK’s rail cargo.
Since it was established, the rail freight company has significantly increased its share of the UK rail freight market and now operates from several larger deep-sea ports in the UK, including Felixstowe, Southampton and London Gateway. Revenues have grown by 60 per cent, while the fleet has increased by some 40 per cent.
