German exports increased to 117.2 billion euros in October, despite global trade tensions, the Federal Statistics Office in Germany announced.

Exports rose by 8.5 per cent during the same month in 2017. Imports had risen by 11.3 per cent to 98.9 billion euros. The head of Germany’s BGA trade association, said that the October figure was also a significant improvement on September.

For the first 10 months of the year German exports rose by 4.1 per cent to 1,105.3 billion euros compared with the same period in 2017. Imports rose by 6.6 per cent to 912.8 billion euros.
