The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) is to continue under a new name and new deals will impact United States exports.
The new agreement will be known as the United State-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). Dairy farmers and the car industry will experience big changes. The doors have opened for dairy farmers for potentially new export markets in Canada.
This will especially affect the exports from Michigan state, which was the fifth largest producer of milk in 2017 in the entire country.

Michigan State University International Business Professor Ahmet Kirca said:

“That’s important to Michigan because 40 percent of dairy exports and dairy products go to Canada,” Kirca said.
