In India the Commerce ministry is focusing on nine sectors, including pharmaceuticals, food processing and textiles, to boost exports in the current financial year.
The ministry is aiming for a minimum growth rate of 16 percent in exports.

Last week, the Commerce and Industry Minister held inter-ministerial talks with different departments, to discuss methods of promoting exports from these sectors.

“The ministry is targeting nine sectors as part of their strategy to boost exports. The minister held discussions on strategy with line ministries,” the official said.
