U.S.A wine exports to China increased by 14 percent in value for the first half of 2018, compared with that period last year.
Exports to that large Far East market were $38.4 million from January to June, according to the Wine Institute. That is a very small proportion of the $708 million in U.S. wine shipped worldwide during that period, but growth for China was stronger than the 2.7 percent rise in global value for the period.
But the export volumes to China were slower in the first half, up 1.04 percent. Worldwide export volume during that time was up 1.7 percent, to 21.3 million 9-liter standard cases.
