The lemon industry of Spain aims to increase exports to countries outside the European Union.
The industry forecasts a big increase in production from last season, so the country intends to strengthen its position as a global exporter.
“At the moment, Spain exports lemons to 53 countries outside of Europe … but the volumes are very small,” said an industry leader, who thinks that this season will be a turning point for Spanish lemons in terms of exports outside of Europe.
