A recently published study in Sweden says that foreign-born workers increase Swedish companies’ export activities.  According to the study, for every foreign-born person employed by a Swedish manufacturing company, the export to that person’s homeland increases by almost one per cent.  The researchers studied 12 000 manufacturing companies in Sweden and their trade during 1998 to 2007.  They followed the exports over time and compared them with the employees’ origins.
