The Japanese government has announced that it will be making loans of USD2.26 billion for the second phase of the ambitious Delhi-Mumbai freight corridor. Japan will also be helping to finance a third infrastructural project in south India. the Japanese Prime Minister expressed happiness at being able to meet Manmohan Singh to underline the close strategic and global partnership between the two countries.
