Extra freighter flights in the last weeks of the year promise to deliver an increased volume of air freight to Hong Kong’s statistics.  Airlines have booked space for an extra 35 freighter flights, carrying export cargo to destinations including Tokyo, Mosco and cities in central Asia.  As most of these flights will be using planes that can carry about 100 tonnes of freight, the airport could have handled more than 3500 tonnes of extra freight by the time flights end on 11 December.
