Last month the Environment Secretary signed a major trade agreement with Russia, which will allow beef and lamb exports from the UK to be imported into Russia. This ends an 18 year ban imposed after the outbreak of BSE in the UK.  This includes offal.  The food industry hopes that this will open major opportunities; food exports have already benefitted from a deal with China, which imports large quantities of pork products which are unpopular in the UK, such as pig ears.
