Import volumes of sheep meat into the UK fell by 9% in November. This was the lowest import for November on records back to 1997.

The drop was caused in particular by a decline in exports from New Zealand. which fell by 10% to 2,200 tonnes. Imports from Belgium, Ireland and the Netherlands also fell noticeably, with each supplier providing about 100 tonnes less than last year.
