Southern Africa citrus growers will export a record crop of almost 137m boxes of citrus fruit to more than 100 countries this year.
It is hoped that the increase in exports should result in job opportunities, more foreign exchange revenue and a growing economy.
The provisional export estimate was presented to the Citrus Marketing Forum but the actual results will be published on Friday 15 March 2019.
The increased export crop represents an improvement of 0.7% year-on-year.
