Exports from Finland increased by a quarter year-on-year in September, according to preliminary figures released by the National BOard of Customs. The main areas of growth for exports from Finland were Russia, China and the United States. Among the EU countries, the highest increase was in exports to Sweden. The main products were iron and steel, but petroleum exports alwos grew substantially. A spokesman from the Confederation of Finnish Industries said that this indicates that the economy is recovering from recession, but he predicts that growth will ease off from now on.
