The strike situation in France continues to get worse as freight truck drivers join in supporting the three week long strike at Marseilles docks.  Lorry drivers are bringing roads almost to a standstill by leaving only one lane open, and travelling at very low speeds.  The national strike today is causing disruption to both freight and logistics and passenger transport.  Most flights to and from French airports have been cancelled, and only about 60% of TGV trains are running.  Local rail services are even more unreliable.  Panic buying at petrol stations has resulted in a 50% rise in petrol sales, and the French government is already using its strategic supplies.  The freight industry will be affected by a shortage of diesel.
