Workers all over France are gradually joining the nationwide strikes protesting against the Government’s plans to raise the state retirement age.  The freight and logistics sector has already been badly affected, as workers at the oil terminals in the port of Marseilles have been pursuing protracted strike action.  Today Air Traffic controllers have also opted to join the industrial action, so air freight will also be affected.  Trains are running at much reduced capacity – this will not help the already cash-strapped freight division of SNCF.
