The Welsh Assemby has advised the Freight Transport Association that there will be a study on the economic impact of tolls on the Severn Bridge.  The FTA is concerned that constant increases in the toll rates on the crossing into Wales are costing its members many thousands of pounds a year, money which could be more profitably invested in the freight industry.    Meanwhile the Transport Secretary, Mike Penning, has indicated that the collection of road tolls needs to be investigated.  The Dartford crossing always causes a bottleneck for passenger and freight traffic alike, and contributes to delays on the M25.
