Volcanic ash from a volcano in Iceland is causing major disruption across air space in Northern Europe. Officials said that the ash can damage aeroplane engines and that air traffic is severely limited in the UK, Norway, Sweden and Finland. Oslo airport, the largest in Norway, is closed. Finavia, the airport agency in Finland, said that air traffic to northern Sweden and Northern Finland was also affected. Most UK airports are completely closed, which means that freight will be unable to move, probably for the rest of the day.
