A week after the Stevedores in Finland ended their national strike, workers walked out for the afternoon when job cuts were announced at the port of Kotka.  The port operator needs to make about 100 people redundant to reduces costs, and 60 of those will be stevedores.  The layoffs will begin immediately and will be gradual. The management intends to handle the same amount of cargo with fewer people.
