The logistics industry greeted the Chancellor’s plans to introduce diesel duty increases gradually with some relief.  The Freight Transport Association said that the strategy of limiting each rise to 1p per litre at a time, will give hard-pressed logistics firms some breathing space but that celebration will be limited as the full increase comes into play by April 2011.  Freight industry representatives have put the case for special treatment in respect of duty, as freight forwarding and logistics are vital for the health of the economy,
