The majority of freight forwarders are small businesses, and are among those suffering from the late payment of invoices by several big brand name companies. The Federation of Small Businesses has revealed that around 4 000 business failures were caused by late payments last year; this demonstrates the need for freight forwarding and shipping companies to devote more attention to credit control.
