During the past year, bankruptcies in haulage firms in Finland have been nearly double the usual annual rate.  A number of different factors have played their part – a reduction in imports from Russia, a downturn in production, and competition from foreign logistics operators which have not been properly regulated.  There has also been a structural change in the kinds of industries operating in Finland, which is likely to affect the future of the logistics industry and particularly the volumes carried by rail freight.
