Eurotunnel is running at approximately 50% of its freight capacity after the fire which broke out last week on a France-bound freight shuttle.  The rail accident investigation branch of the French police is investigating the cause of the fire, but at the moment there is no indication of the cause.  The services are running through the south tunnel and the other two intervals of the north tunnel will be brought into operation whilst the fire is still being investigated.  Some services were back in use about 30 hours after the fire started, which is much quicker than a comparable event in 1996.
