China is intending to open 45 new airports to add to the 220 which already exist; they need to make improvements to the infrastructure of airports to enable them to handle the growing number of exports which need faster handling and shipping times.  In order to help China increase air freight capacity and improve cargo handling, China is trying to attract private investors. Air freight volumes through China’s airports grew by about 19 percent last year, after slower growth rates in the previous two years.
