The Port of Long Beach’s newly appointed Chief Executive has identified enhanced inland rail connectivity as a strategic priority for expanding the port’s market share in Asian imports.
Hacegaba emphasised that developing more efficient intermodal rail services to America’s interior regions will be instrumental in capturing a larger portion of cargo flows from Asia destined for major distribution centres, including Dallas and Chicago.
This strategic focus on rail infrastructure improvements comes as West Coast ports compete intensively for trans-Pacific trade volumes.
