EU fresh fruit and vegetable exports to third countries declined by 4 per cent in 2021, according to published data.
Exports from the 27 EU member states, plus the UK, to non-EU countries dropped to 5.5m tonnes.
Vegetable exports amounted to 2.8m tonnes, which was 6 per cent less than in 2020, with value falling by 4 per cent to €2.12bn.
