The European Commission has decided to respond to a call from five European Union countries, including Poland, for limits on grain imports from Ukraine.
Poland and three other countries near Ukraine, as well as Bulgaria, demanded restrictions on Ukrainian grain imports in a joint letter sent to the European Commission (EC).
Some of the grain exports, which the European countries say should have been destined for Africa, remain in Ukraine’s neighbours. Europena farmers have complained that they have problems selling their own grain due to full warehouses and decreasing prices.
