Bangladesh is trying to import wheat supplies from Russiaafter the biggest supplier India banned exports of the grain last month.
The supply deal with Russia, the biggest wheat exporter in the world, could help Bangladesh meet its needs at lower than current global prices.
Bangladesh is hoping to finalise the deal after a virtual meeting with Russia.
Bangladesh imports around 7 million tonnes of wheat and last year more than-two thirds of that came from India.
