The Yangtze River Delta in China handled 1,135 trips by China-Europe freight trains between January and May this year – an increase of 8.8 per cent year on year, according to China Railway Shanghai Bureau Group Co. Ltd.
The trains carried 110,600 20-foot equivalent units (TEUs) of cargo, —up by 6.5 per cent YoY.
The number of China-Europe freight train trips departing the Delta totalled 235 in May; an increase of 12.4 per cent month on month (MoM) and 14.1 per cent YoY. A total of 23,000 TEUs were delivered—up by 15.8 per cent MoM and 12.9 per cent year on year.
