Thailand is not blocking exports of the AstraZeneca vaccine, a government representative has said. Taiwan had accused Thailand of keeping for itself doses of the vaccine which is being produced there.
Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen said that Taiwan had ordered 10 million doses from AstraZeneca , but that Thailand was “giving priority for vaccines to be used in Thailand”.
“Thailand is not blocking exports of AstraZeneca,” a deputy government spokesperson said on Twitter.
Both Thailand and Taiwan have seen a surge of Covid-19 cases in recent week after months of successfully keeping their outbreaks in check.
