Exports of seafood from smaller companies in Scotland are to be halted for a further five days by the international transport company which handles most of the trade.

The major international shipping company stopped groupage exports last week, after delays in obtaining new paperwork for EU border posts in France.
The company has told customers it will not begin again until next Monday.

The company will then have to approve the paperwork before consignments can be sent to the export warehouse in South Lanarkshire.
Many smaller export batches of seafood are consolidated into truckloads at this huge, chilled site in Larkhall.

It is then transported to the English Channel ports and on to customs and the large market in Boulogne-sur-Mer.
