Export shipment of goods declined 0.36 per cent year-on-year in July-December 2020, as Bangladesh’s major export destinations continued to tame the rising coronavirus infections.
Earnings from exports of apparel, which typically contributes 84 per cent national exports, dropped 2.99 percent.
Of export revenue, $8.52 billion came from knitwear exports, up 3.9 per cent from a year ago. Woven exports fell 10.22 per cent.
Knitwear export shipments probably rose as people wear casual clothing as they stay indoors and work from home.
